Mrs. Dorothea Elizabeth Panncke, who had been making her home with her son, Fred Panncke, and family in Grand Meadow, died suddenly at seven o'clock Friday morning.

Mrs. Panncke, a sister of the late Henry Busacker, was born in Grebs, Mecklenberg - Schwerin, Germany, on Nov. 4, 1844, and came to the United States in 1871, settling in Garnavillo. She was married to Frederick Panncke at Garnavillo and four children were born to them, of which Fred Panncke and Mrs. Amelia Heins of this place survive. Her husband passed away seven years ago. Three grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Panncke, who had reached the age of 85 years and five months, was a charter member of the Ladies' Aid Society of St Paul's church of this city.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the late home, and at two o'clock from St. Paul's church, with Rev. Braun of Garnavillo officiating, and were largely attended. Burial in Postville cemetery.
