William C. Groesbeck was born in Galena, Illinois, Sept. 3, 1861, and passed away at Rochester, Minn., Dec. 10, 1927.

His boyhood days were spent near Yankton, S.D., and Whitten, Grundy county, Iowa. When about twenty three years of age he went to O'Brien county, Iowa, and while there he was united in marriage to Emma J. Norris, Nov. 13, 1887. In 1907 they moved to Allamakee county to a farm near Luana where they have since resided until moving to Postville, Nov. 10th.

He was 66 years, 3 months and 7 days of age. He is survived by his wife, one brother, J. F. Groesbeck, of Beaman, Grundy county; one sister, Luella M. Dunn of Whitten, Grundy county, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held from the Community church in Postville on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. R. F. Galloway officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
