Rites Are Held Friday For Mrs. Wm. Meyer.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 at the Schutte Funeral Home and 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. William H. Meyer who passed away at her home on May 10. Rev. Charles E. Witt was in charge of the final rites. Burial was in Postville ceremony

Born In Germany.

Minnie Anna Sophia Meyer was born on November 21, 1876 in Mecklenberg, Germany, the daughter of John Ehde and his wife, Johanna Gunther Ehde. She was baptized in Germany on January 7, 1877 and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 14, 1889. She came to this country with her parents at the age of seven.

She passed away at her home on May 10, 1955, after having been confined to her bed for several months. She was married to William H. Meyer on February 20, 1894. After their marriage, they lived on a farm in Grand Meadow township, then on a farm in Henderson Prairie for 27 years. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer moved to Postville in 1937, and have lived here ever since.

To this union were born seven children: Walter of Postville; Alma (Mrs. Richard Ihde) of Decorah; Harvey of Clermont; Aileen (Mrs. Eldo Sander) of Postville; Clara (Mrs. Cloy Miller) of Clermont; Gilbert of Postville; and Lloyd of Postville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Luebka.

She is survived by her seven children; two brothers, John Ehde and Carl Ehde of Waukon; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. Charles Stock) of Waukon; Ella (Mrs. Henry Miene) of Waukon; Clara (Mrs. William Hager) of Milwaukee; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. one grandson, Burnell Sander, is serving in the armed forces in Japan.

Mrs. Meyer had been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville for over 66 years, and a member of the Ladies' Aid of the Church for 50 years. She was also an honorary member of the Women of the Church.
