Martin Broderick Rites at Postville

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 6, at 1:30 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church in Waukon with Rev. William Tjaden officiating. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.

Mr. Broderick died Saturday, Dec. 4, at Waukon Veterans' Memorial hospital. He was born July 15, 1898, in Paint Creek township, Allamakee county. He lived in Evansville, Wis., for 8 years and in Mitchell county for 3 years and moved back to Allamakee county in 1932. He was employed as Allamakee county weed commissioner and district court bailiff at the time of his death.

He was married to Eleanor H. Aird, Sept. 1, 1898, in Prairie du Chien.

Preceding him in death were 2 brothers and a grandchild, Jackie Schlein.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. William (Martina) Schlein of Monona; a son, Robert D. of Madison, Wis.; 4 sisters, Mayme and Bridget Broderick of McGregor, and Mrs. Anna Aird and Mrs. William (Margaret) Patrick of Dubuque; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Broderick was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Waukon.
