Frank Bellows

Funeral services were held for Frank Loren Bellows, 95, of Postville, at Schutte Funeral Home, Nov. 26, 1979. The Rev. David Nelson officiated the service, with burial in the Postville Cemetery.

Bellows passed away Nov. 22, in Postville. He was born Feb. 27, 1884 in Luana, the son of Loren A. and Mary (Taylor) Bellows. His early years were spent in this area except for a short move of the family to Kansas and return to Postville.

December 21, 1905, he was married to Edith Marie Miller, with whom he shared 71 years. Bellows had been employed as a wagonmaker at Ellis' Blacksmith Shop, substitute rural mail carrier, dray operator and building contractor. Upon retirement at age 80, he was building foreman for the Dubuque Packing Company. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife and 5 brothers. Surviving are: daughter, Opal Klinger of Postville; a sister, Mrs. Louis (Mae) Kascht of Long Beach, Calif.; 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
