DIED.

DIAL. -- At his home in Union Prairie township, Friday, February 28th, 1890, suddenly, of heart disease, David Dial, aged 50 years, 9 months and 20 days.

Mr. Dial was born in Westmoreland county, Penn., May 7, 1839; came to Iowa when a young man, and has since resided here. He enlisted in Co. A, 2d Battalion, 16th U. S. Regulars, March 13, 1862 and served three years. He was married to Maggie Baldwin in 1868. A wife, two daughters, one son, and other near relatives remain to mourn his death. He was a kind husband and father. The funeral services at the house were conducted by Rev. J. M. Wedgwood of Waukon, and at the Baptist church in Rossville by Rev. C. W. C. Ericson, Sunday afternoon where many friends gathered to pay their tribute of love and respect. "Be ye also ready; for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh."

David Dial died of heart disease on Wednesday night, Feb. 26th. He was hauling ice all day Wednesday and went to bed in apparent good health. His wife was awakened during the night by his hard breathing and found him unconscious. He died in about five minutes. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss.
