An "In Memorium" obituary was in the paper a week after the death notice was printed. I've extracted just the genealogy info.

Postville Review, 14 May 1881.

Wells Eaton died at his home in Post township May 6th, 1881, aged 59 years, 2 months and 4 days. Mr. Eaton had been in poor health for years, and for the past year or two it was evident to his loved ones that he could be taken from them at any time. Mr. Eaton was born in Kings county, Nova Scotia, March 2nd, 1822. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Wood, March 26th, 1845, and during the summer of that same year he and his young wife removed to Walworth county, Wis., in which state they remained until August of 1853 when they settled in Post township, Allamakee county, Iowa, where they have since resided. Mr. Eaton was a member of the church of the United Brethren in Christ and was a trustee of the Bethel church at the time of it's erection until his death. Mr. Wells was the father of eleven children, nine of whom with the wife survive.
