Thomas Powell Passes In South Dakota Home.

William Thomas Powell was born August 30, 1862, in Nobel county, Ohio, and died at the home of his son Fred in Rapid City, S.D., January 13, 1930, aged 67 years, four months and 14 days.

When a small boy his parents moved to West Virginia, where he grew to a young man. As a young man he came to Iowa in 1885, and on March 10, 1889, he was united in marriage with Mary T. Dundee, who preceded him in death in September 1919. To this union were born five children, three of whom survive, John W. of Postville, Fred and Robert of Rapid City South Dakota. He is also survived by one sister, Laura, and two brothers, Lafayette of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota, and Joseph of Houston, Texas.

In 1921 he moved to western South Dakota, where he has since made his home.

Mr. Powell was a resident of Postville and vicinity for some years prior to going to South Dakota, and was known as a genial fellow, a hard working and industrious man, and all who knew him will regret his passing and extend sincerest sympathhy to those bereft.

The body arrived in Postville last Wednesday night, and on Thursday afternoon following a brief funeral service held from Schutte's funeral parlor, Rev. R. F. Galloway officiating, interment was made in Postville cemetery.
