Margaret Behrens

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for Mrs. Margaret Behrens of Postville, who passed away February 7 at her home.

Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Grafton, Wisconsin. this Wednesday afternoon with burial services at 2 p.m.

Margaret (Kohlwey) Behrens was born July 10, 1872 in the town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Grafton, Wisconsin.

She lived with her parents on the Kohlwey homestead until May 4, 1916, when she married Arthur Behrens of Postville.

They lived two and one-half years on a farm north of Postville. Then they moved to the present home in which she died February 7, 1954 at 10:15 a.m.

She is survived by her stepchildren: Arbe Behrens of Postville; Lorene Barker of Boulder, Colorado and William Behrens of Racine, Wisconsin; 3 sisters: Mrs. John Buch and Miss Minnie Kohlwey of Cedarburg, and Mrs. August Benike of West Bend; and 4 brothers: Herman, George, Otto and Ben Kohlwey of Cedarburg.

She was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, and its organizations for many years.
