DEATH.--Quite often during the past few weeks have the papers of Allamakee county contained announcements of the presence of death in their respective localities. More frequent than usual have been these sad happenings in and about Lansing. This week it is our sad duty to record the death of Mr. Patrick Fleming, which occurred early Tuesday morning at his home in this place, he having lately removed here from the farm home three miles west of town. Mr. Fleming had been a resident of the county since 1854, residing on the farm twenty-five years. His age was 78 years, lacking two. Among his acquaintances few men had gained a higher reputation for honesty and a fair dealing. He was universally respected, and was a gentleman of the old school. His family, consisting of the aged widow, sons Wm. and John, and daughters, Mrs. J. Devlin and Miss Mary, have the sympathy of many friends in their deep affliction. Funeral took place yesterday morning from the Catholic church here, of which deceased was one of the oldest members.
