STAFFORD, TRIBOLET, SULLIVAN, RYAN, WHALEN

DUBUQUE TELEGRAPH-HERALD - Mrs. Catherine Stafford, former Dubuquer, was claimed by death at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Tribolet, in Phoenix, Ariz., last Friday afternoon. She had been ill only a short time.

The remains will be brought to this city for funeral services and interment.

Mrs. Stafford was born in Quebec, January 24, 1853, and after her marriage Feb. 22, 1881, to William Stafford in Harpers Ferry she moved to this city, where she lived until eight years ago. Her husband preceded her in death.

Besides two sons, John L. Stafford, this city, and Edward, Chicago, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tribolet, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas, Santa Rosa, N. M.; Frank, Chicago, and Stephen, Buena Vista, Colo.; and two sisters, Mesdames Mary Sullivan and Elizabeth Ryan, both of this city.

Mrs. Stafford was a Catholic, a member of St. Joseph’s court, W. C. O. F., of this city, and in her last hour she was comforted by the rites of that religion.

Deceased’s husband was a brother of Mrs. Martin Whalen of Lansing, Iowa.
