Keith Winters Clark

Keith W. Clark, 82, of Waukon, died Thursday, February 17, 1998 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Friday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Waukon, IA with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Keith Winters Clark was born April 23, 1915 on the Allamakee County, rural Postville farm of his parents, Floyd and Alice Mae (Winters) Clark. He was baptized and confirmed at the Forest Mills United Methodist Church, attended rural Franklin Township elementary school and graduated from Waukon High School in 1932. Keith worked with his father for a time farming and operating a lumber and grist mill. On May 29, 1938 he married Hope Haining in Staples, MN. He began working at the John Deere Implement dealership in Waukon in 1938 and eventually became co-owner. He loved the implement business and often worked long hours, seven days a week until retiring in 1979.

Keith was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed sports and played football and baseball when he was younger. Since retiring he became an accomplished woodworker. He also enjoyed traveling.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Roberta McShane.

Survivors include his wife Hope; 2 sons, Bill (Marilyn) Clark of Waukon and Tom (Marita) Clark of Cedar Rapids; 2 daughters, Barbara (Lee) Kuska of Beloit, WI and Sally (Gregg) Miller of Marshalltown; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dora (Everett) Bollman of Luana and Mary (Verdon) Swenson of Postville; 1 brother, Lloyd Clark of Postville.

Casketbearers were Clark and Scott Bollman, Hall "Buddy" Swenson, Gene Shogren, Pat Ward and Fred Smith.
