Funeral services for Joseph Henry Kibbie, 93, who died last Tuesday in Omaha, Neb. at the home of his daughter, after a fifteen-month illness, were held Saturday morning in the Sacred Heart church in Ayrshire. The Rev. C.E. Farrelly, Emmetsburg, officiated in the absence of Father Hyland.

Burial was in Calvary cemetery with the Martin Funeral home in charge of the arrangements. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Emmett and Jack Kibbie, Gerald and Edward McGivern, Robert Rossiter and Jack Whalen. The altar boys were three grandsons, Gregory and Richard Kibbie and Gene McGivern. Monsignor Lynch of Carroll was present on the altar during the services.

Mr. Kibbie was born in Dorchester, Allamakee county, Iowa on June 4, 1856, the son of William and Margaret Donovan Kibbie. On Feb. 9, 1885 he married Margaret Maguire in Dorchester. Fourteen children, twelve of whom are living were born to this marriage. One son, William, died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Loretta McGivern, also preceded her father in death. Mrs. Kibbie died in 1928.

He leaves his children, Mrs. Joseph Reno, Joseph F. Kibbie, Ayrshire; Mrs. N.G. McGivern, Marengo; James Kibbie, Clinton; Mrs. George A. Hageman, Mrs. F.K. Rossiter, Miss Veronica Kibbie, Miss Margaret Kibbie, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Vincent Whalen, Florence, Minn.; Jack Kibbie, Emmetsburg; Major Charles Kibbie, San Francisco, Cal and Justin Kibbie, Estherville. Also among the survivors are twenty-nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Those from a distance who attended the rites were Connie and Ray Kibbie, Waukon; Mrs. J.T. Maguire and Dr. Tretma, Fairmont, Minn.; Edward Maguire, Hadley; Mr. and Mrs. Lorry Dunwald, Waterloo; Mr. E. Maguire and Kevan, Osage; Miss Helen Maguire, Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. James Maguire, Mr. and Mrs. Trusty, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. John Waldron, Whittemore and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Waldron, Sherburn, Minn.
