Contributor: Connie Ellis (not related)Funeral services for Roger Wayne Vonderohe, age 53, of Glidden, Iowa, formerly of the Allamakee County area, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24 at the First Presbyterian Church in Glidden. The Rev. Dr. Donald Cameron II officiated. Burial was in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery. Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gordon Ellingson, Harlan Yohe, Steven Mohwinkle, Rick St. Peter, Gerald Meyer, and Dennis Wittrock. Honorary bearers were Thomas Donsmoor and David Tjarks.
Roger Wayne Vonderohe, son of Albert and Martha (Burmester) Vonderohe, was born March 5, 1944 in Caledonia, Minnesota. He graduated with honors from Waukon High School and attended Calmar Technical School in Calmar, Iowa. On August 30, 1969 he married Brenda Mohwinkle at Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church in New Albin, Iowa. They farmed for several years. Roger then went to electrical school and became a licensed electrician in Minnesota. He worked with motors and did electrical work in Minnesota and Iowa. They moved to the Glidden, Iowa area in 1992. He had worked at County General Store in Carroll, Iowa and was in charge of shipping and receiving. Roger was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Glidden, North Central Iowa Rabbit Fancier Association and the Iowa Rabbit Breeders. He received many awards, the last being the Iowa State Rabbit Breeders Association lifetime membership award in 1997.
Roger Wayne Vonderohe died Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa following a brief illness.
Roger is survived by his wife, Brenda, and a son, Mark Vonderohe, both of Glidden, Iowa, his parents of New Albin, Iowa...* The remaining portion of the obituary is missing. *

Although the obit states he is buried in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery (Glidden, Iowa), there is a gravestone for him in Mt Hope Cemetery, Allamakee (link below). It is possible the marker in Mt Hope is a memorial. Researchers should confirm his burial place.
