Rites for Mrs. George Hartley
Funeral services were held Friday, March 15 at 1:30 p.m. from Mt. Hope Presbyterian church for Mrs. George (Grace) Hartley, 82, of Waukon, who died March 13 at the Good Samaritan center in Waukon.
The Rev. William Tjaden and the Rev. Kent Wever officiated and burial was in Oakland cemetery. Robert C. Hartley, John Hartley, George Hartley, Glenn Hartley, Lester Hartley and Arnold Rowe were pallbearers. Martin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Grace Rowe was born Dec. 30, 1891 in Lansing and was a daughter of James and Susan Stevens Rowe. She attended the local schools in Lansing and was employed as a teacher in rural schools.
April 22, 1914 she married George P. Hartley in Lansing. He died Jan. 10, 1971.
Survivors are two sons, Robert and Grant of Waukon, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a brother Frank Rowe of Canada. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hartley was a member of Mt. Hope Presbyterian church.Waukon Republican Standard
