A memorial mass was held Saturday, January 12 for Florence Mary Cronin, age 80, who died Tuesday, January 8, 1991 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Father Ed Lechtenberg conducted the liturgy at 11 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Florence Mary, daughter of John Louis and Angela (Gotto) Hildman, was born April 25, 1910 in Ionia, Iowa. She graduated from St. Bonniface High School in Ionia. She attended nursing school at St. Francis in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for three years. On June 22, 1935 she married Joseph B. Cronin in Ionia, Iowa. *The rest of the obituary is missing*

NOTE for family researchers: On February 21, 2008, Florence and Joe's daughter, Mary (Cronin) Rofrano died. Her obituary is posted on the Allamakee County obituary section. She was survived by her sisters, Jane (Robert) Butler of Waukon, Iowa and Jill (William) Maslowski of Delafield, Wisconsin. Joseph "Joe" B. Cronin was born May 31, 1910 and he died September 1, 1983.

Additional information from a Nashua, Iowa newspaper: Florence came from a family of 11 children, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. Her sisters were Emma Lickteig, Mathilda Zimmer, Oliveria McDermott, Mary Lavonne Heitman, and Donna Kress and her brothers were Raymond Hildman, Leo H. Hildman, Claire F. Hildman, John Louis Hildman, and a brother who was deceased when her mother passed away in 1950. Another source had listed her father's name as Louis John Hildman.

Waukon- Florence M. Cronin, 80, died Tuesday in the Good Samaritan Center. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters, Jane Butler of Waukon, Mary Rofrano of Atlanta, and Jill Maslowski of Heartland, Wis.; and two sisters, LaVonne Heitman of Marengo and Donna Kress of Waterloo.
