Funeral services for Eldo W. Wacker, age 63, of Hiawatha, Iowa were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Mayy 17 in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Charles West officiating. Military rites were by American Legion Hanford Post #5. Entombment was in the Cedar Memorial Park.

Eldo was born March 10, 1927 in Elkader, Iowa. On May 10, 1953 he married Marilyn Bartels in Westgate, Iowa. They farmed for 12 years near Waukon, Iowa and later he worked at Farmstead Foods for 20 years. He retired in 1987. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local P-3, Hanford American legion Post #5, and Hope United Church of Christ in Hiawatha, Iowa. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Army.

Eldo W. Wacker died at his home on Monday, May 14, 1990. He was preceded in death by his father. * The obituary never listed the name of his father *

Eldo is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his mother Sophie Wacker of Waukon, Iowa; 2 sons, Tom Wacker, and David Wacker, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 2 daughters, Bonnie Wacker of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Jane Pate of Marion, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; 5 brothers, James Wacker of Waukon, Glenn Wacker and Dale Wacker, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Paul Wacker of Perry, Iowa, and Ray Wacker of Boscobel, Wisconsin; 6 sisters, Laura Hermann of Phoenix, Arizona, Louise Schneberger of Washburn, Iowa, Alice Schlake of Waterville, Iowa, Esther Hemme of Zumbrota, Minnesota, Ruth Willar of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sally Livingston of Wichita, Kansas.
