Funeral services for former Postville, Iowa resident, Darlene Hofschulte, were held Friday, December 14, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lake City, Minnesota. Father Donald Larey officiated. Interment was in the Mazeppa Cemetery. Anderson Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were John Kramer, Robbie Stanislowski, Chris Hofschulte, Donnie Hofschulte, Steve Pahl, and David Schultz. Honorary pallbearers were Marie Heise, Edna Kelley, Ann Weick, Mary Peterson, Kay Wempner, Blanche Beebe, and Peg Bremer.

Darlene, daughter of Harold and Marian (Schultz) Streich was born October 12, 1942 in Minneiska, Minnesota. She married Francis Hofschulte on June 2, 1962 in Mazeppa, Minnesota. They had resided in Postville, Iowa for quite a few years when Francis was the manager of the United Building Center Lumber Company. After moving to Lake City, Minnesota, Darlene was employed as a teller at Lake City Federal Bank. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Darlene died December 11, 1990 at Lake City Hospital after a long struggle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Streich and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; 2 sons Jeff Hofschulte of Red Wing, Minnesota and Daniel Hofschulte; 5 grandchildren; her mother, Marian Streich and 2 sisters, Betty Stanislowski and Sandy Kramer, all of Trempealeau, Wisconsin.
