Funeral services for Caroline A. Whalen, age 55 of New Albin, Iowa, were held Monday, May 21 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin. The Rev. Henry Charipar officiated with burial in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Doug Servais, Scott Servais, Tim Servais, Stevie Weiker, Tom Imhoff, and Jim Bechtel.

Caroline, daughter of George and Ida (Kreibich) Servais, was born July 11, 1934 in Shelby Township, LaCrosse County, Wisconsin. On December 27, 1960 she married Leo Whalen in Middle Ridge, Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Rosary Society in New Albin, Iowa.

Caroline A. Whalen died Friday, May 18, 1990 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her brother Arnold Servais.

She is survived by her parents, George and Ida Servais of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; her husband, Leo Whalen of New Albin, Iowa; 3 sons, Don Whalen of LaCrescent, Minnesota, Dave Whalen and Paul Whalen, both of New Albin, Iowa; 2 daughters, Jean Whalen of Portage, Wisconsin and Joan Whalen of St. Paul, Minnesota; 7 sisters, Marcella (Jerome) Weiker, Betty (Leo) Althoff, Loretta (Jack) Nockels, Arlene (Roger) Young, Delores (Ray) Spies, and Diane (Larry) Silka, all of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Jean (Al) Hammes of Stoddard, Wisconsin; 5 brothers, Leo Servais and Cletus Servais, both of Bangor, Wisconsin, Stanley Servais of Coon Valley, Wisconsin, Clarence Servais of Cashton, Wisconsin, and George Servais of Boston, Massachusetts.
