Funeral services for Freda F. Dougherty, age 93, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. Father Ed Lechtenberg officiated. Burial was in the Cherry Mound Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Robert Faktor, Edward Chalsma, Dennis Dougherty, Daniel Dougherty, Dale Dougherty, and Richard Franzen.

Freda F. was born in Allamakee County, Iowa December 19, 1896, the daughter of Franz and Thekla (Zivigel) Heim. In 1917 she married Leo McGeough. He died in 1919. She and Joseph Dougherty were married in 1922. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah, Iowa and had been an employee of Micro Switch Mfg. Company.

Freda died Saturday, September 15, 1990 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. In addition to both her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, Marguerite (Dougherty) Faktor and Dorothy (Dougherty) Chalsma, 8 brothers and 8 sisters.

She is survived by 4 children: Leon McGeough, Sister Mary Imelda Dougherty, Donald Dougherty, and James Dougherty; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
