Funeral services for Marjorie Helen Gelo, age 72, of Lansing, Iowa were held at 2:30 p.m. at the Lansing United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Mattson officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Robert Leppert, Curt Gramlich, Lee Deuerhelm, Dale Hartong, Ralph Schellhammer and Harlan Schellhammer.

A lifetime Lansing area resident, Marjorie Helen, daughter of Clarence and Hattie Agnes (Pease) Feuerhelm, was born July 1, 1917 in Lansing Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She graduated from Lansing High School and attended teacher's college. She taught rural school for several years and was a cook for 19 years at Lansing schools. On August 25, 1945 she married Edwin Herman Gelo at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lansing. Edwin died July 10, 1989.

Marjorie died April 15, 1990 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Charlotte.

Marjorie is survived by 6 children: Sharon Nelson of New Albany, Indiana, Joye Gelo and Jeanne (Damon) Pap, both of Vail, Colorado, Wayne (Peggy) Gelo of Lansing, Iowa, Keith (Wendy) Gelo of Conifer, Colorado, and Dean Gelo of Denver, Colorado; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Glenn Feuerhelm of Denver, Colorado, Duane Feuerhelm of Alexandria, Virginia, and George Feuerhelm of Albert Lea, Minnesota.
