Funeral services for Edwin Marcus Christianson of Waterville, Iowa were held Monday, September 3, 1990 at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bachman conducting the 1 p.m. services. Burial was in the Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Waterville, Iowa. Casket bearers were Steve Christianson, David Christianson, Daryl Christianson, Mark Christianson, Melbourne Evanson, and Earl Iverson.

Edwin was born February 18, 1910 to Carl and Thorine (Anderson) Christianson in Allamakee County, Iowa. He attended Dalby School in Center Township. In 1938 he married Loretta Weipert. He was a welder and machinist for 50 years. At one time he made a special stainless steel medical instrument that was used by doctors in open chest surgery. During World War II he manufactured several tractors for farmers when tractors were not available from the factory.

Edwin died Saturday, September 1, 1990 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Thelma.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Loretta; 3 sons, Carl Christianson of Waukon, Iowa, James Christianson and Richard Christianson, both of Waterville, Iowa; 3 daughters, Jean Ann (John) Fritz of St. Cloud, Florida, Avis Troendle of Marion, Iowa, and Alice (Ed) Zoll of Jacksonville, Florida; 9 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lillian Christianson of Waukon, Iowa, Ellen Marti of Luana, Iowa, and Verna (Victor) Samb of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; and 1 brother, Charles Christianson of Waterville, Iowa.
