Adam Burke

Adam Michael Burke, 20, of New Albin and Waterloo passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin. The Rev. Daniel Knipper will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center, New Albin, where a Scripture Service will be held at 8 p.m.
Adam was born March 29, 1991 in Waterloo. He attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo in the graphics design program. He worked as a Work Comp Patient Care Coordinator at VGM in Waterloo. Adam enjoyed being with friends, taking roadtrips, singing, laughing, kayaking, tubing, swimming and a good laugh.
He is survived by his parents, Greg and Jenny Burke of Waterloo and Toni and Roger Bakewell of New Albin; his brother, Austin Burke; his sisters, Brittany and Brooklyn Bakewell; and a step-sister, Angie. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
The Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
