Minnie Troendle

Minnie C. Troendle, 91, of Lansing died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 20 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing, with Rev. Daniel Knipper officiating the service. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing.

Minnie C. Peterson was born December 23, 1919 in Center Township. She was the daughter of Otto and Jonetta Jenson Peterson. December 31, 1940 she was united in marriage to Theodore Troendle in Dubuque. Minnie taught at the rural schools in the Lansing area. Following her marriage she helped Ted on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Bob (Kay) Troendle of Lansing; one daughter, Bonnie (Leon) Mohn of Lansing; two daughters-in-law, Norma Troendle of Lansing and Betty Troendle of Waukon; two sisters-in-law, Rita Troendle and Gladys Troendle, both of Lansing; 13 grandchildren, Ron Troendle, Glenn Troendle, Darrell Troendle, Brian Troendle, Richard (Rick) Troendle, Jean Ideker, Denise Schmelzer, Vicki Troendle, Jennifer Davis, Tiffany Troendle, Stacy Walleser, Shannon Mohn and Teresa Brown; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted, in February of 2005; two sons, Thomas and Gerald; two grandchildren, Marsha Kay and Larry; a great-grandson, Jesse Ideker; and five sisters, Ellen Dee, Johanna McCoy, Jennie Uren, Esther Sweat and Martha Wood; and two brothers, Carl and Hjalmer Peterson.
