Joseph "Keith" McGeough, age 68, of Waukon, Iowa died October 9, 1999 at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg held service October 12 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa with burial following in St. Pius Catholic Church Cherry Mound Cemetery in rural Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Casket bearers were Gerald Meyers, Kevin and Russell Kinley, Todd and Stan Mielke, and Ray Gavin. Arrangements were handled by Martin Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa.

Keith was born December 31, 1930 on the Cherry Mound farm to Vincent and Nora (Regan) McGeough. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Pius at Cherry Mound Catholic Church. He attended schools in rural Cherry Mound, Lansing, and Waterville High School. On June 1, 1953 he married Rose Kinley at St. Pius Cherry Mound Catholic Church. From 1954 until 1956 Keith served as a Pfc. in the United States Army. Following the military, he returned to Allamakee County. Keith and Rose operated a dairy, hog, and grain farm in Waterville, Iowa until moving to Waukon, Iowa in 1990.

Keith was a former board member of Scandinavian Mutual Insurance Company, active in the Farm bureau, the Harpers Ferry American Legion Post and the Allamakee Antique Auto Club. He was currently a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Keith previously attended both St. Pius and St.Ann's/St. Joseph's Catholic Churches of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers LeRoy McGeough and infant brother William.

He is survived by his wife, Rose McGeough of Waukon, Iowa; 4 daughters, Maggie (Don) LaKosc of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Susan (Mike) McMillan and Maureen Garin? or Gavin of Waukon and Marcia (Pat) Wilson of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin;
and 2 sons, Michael McGeough of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Adrian McGeough of Waukon, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-granddaughter; 1 sister, Catherine (Dayton) Jones of Harpers Ferry, Iowa
