Orville J. Olson, age 72, of Hackensack, Minnesota, died February 14, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Pine River, Minnesota. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hackensack with the Rev. Tom Bouchard officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Hackensack, Minnesota.

He was born January 9, 1914 in Harpers Ferry, Iowa the son of Henry and Ida (Melbostad) Olson. He was a cabinet maker until moving to the Hackensack area in 1950. He was a resident of the Hackensack area for 35 years, owning and operating the Olson's Twin Springs Resort on Pleasant Lake while continuing his cabinet making trade. He served on the Pleasant Lake Association Board of Directors for eight years, was a supervisor on the Birch Lake Town board for 12 years, a member of the Hackensack Senior Citizens' Club, serving as president for four years, and vice-president for one year, and also served on the Cass County Council on Aging for five years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dolores Lansing of Ossian, Iowa; his mother, Ida Olson of Waukon, Iowa; a sister, Mrs Oscar (Amy) Ferris of Burlington, Iowa; and 3 brothers, Alton Olson, Helmer Olson, and Lloyd Olson, all of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

NOTE: Many Allamakee County and Winneshiek County families enjoyed many years of vacation time at the Olson's Resort at Hackensack, Minnesota.
