Funeral services are pending at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon for Bryan Hove, age 15, who died of injuries received in an accident on county
blacktop W60 about 3 miles southwest of Waukon, Iowa shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday. Bryan was getting out of a pickup truck and then walking around to the rear of the truck where he stepped into the path of an on-coming pickup operated by a 22 year old Decorah man. Bryan was taken to the Waukon hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had completed his freshman year at the Waukon Junior High School.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10 at 11 a.m. from Glenwood Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, Iowa for Bryan LaMoine Hove, age 15, of Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. Landis Olson officiated at the services. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery, Ridgeway, Iowa. Casket bearers were Chad Nolting, Mike Cooper, Eric Hove, Craig Grotegut, Frank Sivesind, and Steve Weis. Honorary pallbeareres were Bobby, Danny, and Brian Regan, Marc Weis, Eric Sefzik, and Jason Mohwinkle. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bryan, who had just completed the ninth grade at Waukon Junior High School, died as the result of injuries received in an accident on Sunday, June 7, 1987. He was born October 19, 1971 at Cresco, Iowa, the son of Gary and Sandra (Anderson) Hove. The family moved to the Waukon area from Ridgeway, Iowa in 1974. Bryan was active in Future Farmers of America and 4-H, serving as president of the Ludlow Future Farmers 4-H Club. He was a member of the Glenwood Church and Luther League. He was a drummer in the band, played basketball and softball in summer league.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.

He is survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Brenda, at home and Mrs. Monty (Peggy) Kuhn of West Union, Iowa; his grandmothers, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Ossian, Iowa and Pearl Soreide of Decorah and step-grandmother Edna Hove of Princeton, Illinois.
