Clara M. Ludeking, age 101, died Thursday, September 20, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 23 at Salem United Church of Christ, rural Waukon, Iowa, with the Rev. Dr. Elsa Marsland officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gaylen and Greg Snitker, Meryle Honn, Ronald and Devin Ludeking and DuWayne Snitker.

Clara was born August 15, 1887 in Winneshiek County to Fred and Johann (Bollhoefer) Klepper. She attended country schools. On May 19, 1910 she married David Ludeking in Frankville, Iowa. He died February 3, 1959. She was a homemaker and member of Salem UCC where she had been active in women's groups.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Lloyd Ludeking, who died April 19, 1978; 2 sisters, Lena and Ida, and two brothers in infancy.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Lucille Ludeking of Waukon, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Ritchie Ludeking of Pennsville, New Jersey and Suzanne Ludeking of Waukon, Iowa; 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Flage of Waukon, Iowa.
