Death Follows Short Illness

Mrs. Powell, wife of C.M. Powell, the tailor, died at her home in this city Saturday after a short illness. She had been able to participate in a social gathering only a few evenings before and her death came as a sudden and grievous shock to her family and friends. Deceased was 39 years of age, Lansing being her birthplace, and where she will be remembered as Pearl Maxwell. She leaves a husband, a son Lawrence and a daughter, Miss Ruth. Also her aged mother and a brother, Frank Maxwell at Lansing and a sister who resides in Michigan. The funeral takes place Thursday from the Baptist Church.
