Edward F. Kroack, age 87, of Waukon, Iowa died Thursday, May 8, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Services were held Monday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Father Joseph Slepicka, Father William White, and Father Albert Manternach officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Clem Steele, Peter Steele, Bill Steele, Richard Steele, Dennis Steele, and Larry White. Honorary pallbearers were Philly Steele, Ray Sweeney, Stanley White, A.P. Berg, Emmett Sullivan, and Ralph Steele, Jr.

Edward was born September 13, 1898 in Freeburg, Minnesota to John and Louise (Brenner) Kroack. He married Ella White on June 1, 1922 in Waukon, Iowa. He had been a resident of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, New Albin, Iowa, and Waukon, Iowa. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1920 and St. Patrick's Church where he served 28 years as a trustee on the board. He also was overseer for the building of the new grade school and convent of St. Patrick's.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, a brother John Kroack, and three sisters, Lena Woods, Mary Steele, and Delila Kroack.

Surviving are a son Joseph Kroack, Jr. and a grandson James J. Kroack.
