A funeral mass for Lillian Braun was held Tuesday, September 30, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Paul Otting officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Cecil Kuhse, Roger Kuhse, Dale Kuhse, Cloy Kuhse, Dennis Kohrs, and Dean Peterson.

Lillian Louise was the daughter of Fred and Anna (Meyer) Kuhse. She was born May 14, 1905 in Post Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She died Friday night, September 26, 1986 in the Good Samaritan Home in Postville, Iowa. She attended the Grand Meadow Township School in Clayton County, Iowa. On October 30, 1939 she was married to Joseph J. Braun in St. Bridget Catholic Church at Postville, Iowa. They were the parents of two children. Lillian assisted her husband in the operation of the Postville Meat Market for many years. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center for the past 5 years. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, who died June 16, 1974; and two sisters, Hulda Block and Alma Kuhse. Two days after Lillian's death, on September 28, 1986, her sister, Orma Benzing passed away at Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Surviving are a son, Lloyd J. Braun and his wife, Martha of Las Vegas, Nevada and a daughter Susan and her husband Robert Jeidy of Plover, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Alex, Jesse, David, Kathy, and James Braun, and Trish and Ryan Jeidy; 3 brothers, Victor Kuhse, Lorenz Kuhse, and Milo Kuhse, all of Postville, Iowa; 4 sisters, Mrs. Orville (Helen) Peterson of St. Olaf, Iowa, Mrs. Victor (Orma) Benzing of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin * see previous paragraph*, Mrs. Harlan (Hilma) Miller of Monona, Iowa and Mrs. Charles (Pearl) Folsom of Waukon, Iowa.
