Edwin W. Meyer, age 82 of New Albin, Iowa died Thursday, February 26, 1987 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Services were held Monday, March 2 at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin with the Rev. Daniel Jensen officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Memorial Cemetery, rural New Albin, Iowa. Pallbearers were John Duffy, Jim Duffy, Frank Duffy, Bob Loomis, Jerry Loomis, and Robert Nelson.

Edwin was born February 12, 1905 in rural Eitzen, Minnesota to Otto and Mary (Saas) Meyer. He married Colletta Glaser on November 22, 1932 in Waukon, Iowa. He was a well driller.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Survivors are his wife, Colletta; a son Ralph Meyer of New Albin, Iowa; 3 daughters, Lois Duffy of Spring Grove, Minnesota, Lillian Loomis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Lorrayne Davis of Decatur, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren;and 2 sisters, Leona Sadler of Postville, Iowa and Lillian Korn of Hastings, Minnesota.
