Ernest E. Ingles, age 75, lifelong resident of northeast Iowa died Monday, February 17, 1986 in Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held Thursday February 20 at 11 a.m. from Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Weber, Bob Weber, Jeff Weber, Mark Lang, Dave Thomas, and Dan Thomas. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Ernest was born March 25, 1910 to George E. and Mildred (Lamphier) Ingles in Littleport, Clayton County, Iowa. He attended Littleport schools. He married Josephine Hammel on November 28, 1934 in New Albin, Iowa. He was a retired grocer, farmer, feedmill worker, and custodian of the Allamakee County courthouse.

He was preceded in death by a child, Burdette, in infancy and two sisters, Pearl and Luella.

Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Roger (Ida) Thomas and Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Weber, both of Waterloo, Iowa; a son John Ingles of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Arthur Ingles of Waukon, Iowa, Henry and Howard Ingles both live in California, and Raymond Ingles of Virginia; 3 sisters, Mrs. J.P. (Agnes) Moorhouse of Benton, Tennessee, Adeline Hammel of McGregor, Iowa and Mrs. Donna Rumph of Monona, Iowa.
