The Rev. Emil Burrichter, age 83, Wheatland, Iowa in Clinton County, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 17, 1985 in the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20 in St. Paul's United Church of Christ with burial in the church cemetery.

Emil Burrichter was born March 18, 1902 in Clinton County, Iowa to Fred and Fredericka (Mohr) Burrichter. He married Elsie Dickel on June 26, 1930 in Wheatland. He was a graduate of the Academy College and Seminary of the Mission House of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was ordained June 22, 1930 in St. Paul's Church, Wheatland and was a member of the church. He served St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, Iowa and Peace United Church in Crooked Creek from 1954 to 1963. He also served various other congregations in the Midwest before retiring to Wheatland in 1967.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, a sister, and a great-grandson.

Survivors are his wife, Elsie; 2 daughters, the Rev. Lavon (Mrs. Robert) Bayler of Elgin, Illinois, and Lorene Burrichter of Oskaloosa, Iowa; a son Norris "Bud" Burrichter of Eitzen, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a sister Anna Stender of Maquoketa, Iowa and 2 brothers, Paul Burrichter and Reuben Burrichter, both of Lost Nation, Iowa.
