Funeral services for Delores Etta (Mount) Leas were held Monday, August 31, 1:30 p.m. at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona. Rev. Marion Bloodworth officiated. Burial was in Sixteen Cemetery, rural Waterville. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.
Delores was born April 18, 1937, in Linton Twp., rural Allamakee County, to parents Roy and Marie Schlitter Mount. She was baptized in the E. U. B. Church, Monona. She received her education at Minor Ridge Country School.
She married Eldon Leas September 21, 1968 at the E.U.B. Church, Monona. They had one son. The couple farmed in the Waterville area all their married life.
Delores was a member of the Flower Club, Linton Twp. election board and served as Chairman for Linton Twp. Farm Bureau. She died an accidental death at her home in rural Waterville Thursday, August 27, 1987
Preceding her in death was her husband, Eldon, who died June 17, 1983.
Surviving is one son, Ron, at home; parents, Roy and Marie Mount of Monona; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers were Robert Saake, Harold Krambeer, Jr., Jeff Keenan, Lorne Byrnes, Russ Ellingson, Craig Yohe, Dean Thorstenson and Herbert Schmidt,
Honorary pallbearers were Maureen Keenan, Rita Byrnes, Bernadette Unterberger, Ann Leas, Joyce Saacke and Deanna Krambeer.Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time.
