Eldon Anton Leas, the son of Arthur and Louise (Larson) Leas, was born July
27, 1928 Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. He received his grade school
education at the Sixteen School and graduated from the Waterville High School
in 1946. He was a Trustee and Clerk for Linton Township. He served in the
Korean Conflict from 1952-1955. He was a farmer most of his life. On September
21, 1968 he was united in marriage to Delores Mount at the EUB Church in
Monona, Iowa. To this union, one son was born. Eldon died on Friday, June 17,
1983 at the age of 54 years, 10 months, and 20 days.

Preceding him in death was his father and sibling twins who died in infancy.

Surviving are his wife, Delores; his son Ron Leas, at home on the farm; his
mother, Mrs. Louise Leas of Waukon, Iowa; 3 sisters, Lorene Gjefle of Waukon,
Iowa, Maxine Thorstenson of Waterville, Iowa, and Barbara Mowat of Altoona,
Iowa; 2 brothers, Allen Leas of McGregor, Iowa and Arvid Leas of Waterville,
Iowa; nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 20, 1983 at Schultz Funeral Home in
Monona, Iowa. Rev. Curtis Webster officiated. Pallbearers were Dean
Thorstenson, Eugene Cahoon, Robert Saacke, Neil Leas, Lawrence Benda, Herbert
Schmidt, Harold Krambeer, Jr. and LeRoy Mettille. He was buried at the Sixteen
Cemetery with military services conducted by the American Legion Post of
Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
