Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, Wisconsin for Norman M. Onsager, age 69, who died Saturday, April 2, 1988 at his home in Stetsonville. The Rev. James Babler officiated at the 2 p.m. services. Casket bearers were his nieces and nephews. Burial was in Medford Evergreen Cemetery, Medford, Wisconsin. Hemer Funeral Home in Medford was in charge of arrangements.

Norman was born June 14, 1918 in Allamakee County to Albert and Ida (Hagen) Onsager. He attended Glenwood Schools, Glenwood. On January 29, 1945 he married Irene Anderson in Glenwood where they farmed before moving to the Medford area in 1946. He worked for the Medford Brewery and they moved to Stetsonville in 1951. He worked at the Hurd Millwork for 33 years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, and a sister.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Sue) Edwards of Kent, Washington, Bonnie Blume of Stetsonville, Wisconsin, Mrs. Paul (Carol) Jorgenson of Eagan, Minnesota, and Pamela Onsager of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 4 sons, Thomas Onsager of Airway Heights, Washington, Michael Onsager of Arpin, Wisconsin, Clifford Onsager of Chanute Air Force base, Rantoul, Illinois, and Melvin Onsager of Groton Naval base, Groton, Connecticut; 15 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Arnold Onsager of Waukon, Iowa and Oscar Onsager of Manchester, Iowa; and a sister, Ethel Onsager of Waukon, Iowa.
