Funeral services were set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26 for Theodore A. Geving, age 88, who died Saturday, January 23, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center. Pastor April Larson will officiate at the services held at Old West Paint Creek Church with burial in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Dennis, Richard, Craig, and Eric Geving and James, Kim, Mark, Larry, Todd, and Ron Thies.

Theodore was born October 18, 1899 in Allamakee County to John and Isabelle (Johnson) Geving. He attended rural schools and Smeby School. On April 12, 1923 he married Esther Kolsrud at Waterville Lutheran Church. She died April 30, 1980. He was a lifetime area resident and moved to Waukon in 1972. He was a member of OWPC, Senior Citizen Club, Farm Bureau, and church groups. He was an avid baseball fan, especially the Chicago Cubs, and liked to play cards, do farm work and garden.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Eleanor Kloke who died in November of 1978; a son James Geving, who died at the age of six; 2 brothers, Herbert and Joseph Geving, and a sister, Agnes Kosbau.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Thies of Waukon, Iowa; a son, Richard Geving of Cody, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
