Mary Estelle Lee died Tuesday, January 26, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, Iowa at the age of 94. Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Monday, February 1 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Estelle was born January 4, 1894 in Waukon, Iowa to Thomas and Sarah (Fahey) Kaveny. She attended Waukon Schools and Mt. St. Joseph College, now Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. On October 19, 1915 she married John J. Lee in Waukon, Iowa. He died in 1939. She was part owner of "T. Kaveny & Co." retail store and had taught school in Allamakee County. They lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, Kentucky, and in 1939 moved to Waukon. She was a member of St.Patrick's Church, Wa-Tan-Ye and Church groups.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, 3 brothers, John, Canute, and William Kaveny, and a sister Helen Kaveny.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Suzanne) Clark of Spring Lake, Michigan; 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Kevin, Matthew, Patrick, and Lisa and 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon, and Steven.
