Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16 for Lois A. Steele, age 73, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin who died April 13, 1988 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The 11 a.m. services were held at St.Gabriel's Catholic Church and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien was in charge of arrangements. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.

Lois was born November 25, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Anna (Coyle) Stubstad. On September 21, 1936 she married Burnill Steele in Waukon, Iowa. He died in 1978.

Surviving are 7 sons, Clem of Dubuque, Iowa, Bill of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Peter and Dennis, both of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Richard and Vincent, both of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Michael of St.Paul, Minnesota; a daughter, Mary Steele of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
