Memorial services were held for David Lavern Rekward who died March 15, 1989 at his home in Reno, Nevada. Jack Glidewell, pastor of Lord of Mercy Lutheran Church in Sparks, Nevada, conducted the services.

David, a native of Waukon, Iowa was born June 17, 1945, the son of Wallace and Luella Rekward. He was a graduate of Waukon High School. He had lived in Reno for the past ten years after moving from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a psychologist and member of Mental Health Medical Associates in Reno. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a staff sergeant.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra of Reno, a daughter Kathryn Rekward and a son Robert both of Santa Maria, California; mother Luella Rekward of Reno; two sisters, Dorothy Parrish of Sparks, Nevada and Eunice Hager of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; a brother Lael of Waterloo, Iowa. Also numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Wallace who died January 13, 1985.
