Funeral services for Dale Turner were held Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 1:30 P. M. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. The Reverend Gary Catterson officiated.

The organist was Sandy Turner, Dale's niece. The Casket Bearers were: Ryan Suckow, Kyle Turner, Kurt Turner, Kory Turner, Adam Holiday, Joshua Holiday. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Dale Webster Turner was born March 15, 1918, on a farm near Luana, Iowa, to Harry Nichols Turner and Mary E. "Mae" (Mill) Turner. When Dale was five, his family moved to the farm three miles south of Postville in Grand Meadow Township, where he lived for the next 60 years. He passed away Sunday, October 3, 2004 in the Ossian Senior Hospice at Ossian, Iowa. He had reached the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 18 days.

Dale was confirmed March 27, 1932 in the Presbyterian Church in Postville. He graduated from the Postville High School with the class of 1937.

On May 29, 1954 he was married to Eileen Eunice Dresser at Postville, Iowa. To this union five children were born. Together they farmed and milked cows for 30 years. In 1984 Dale and Eunice moved to their present home in Postville. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this spring.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice, five children, Barbara (Randy) Suckow, St. Michael, MN, Steven (Susan C.) Turner, Postville, IA, Julie (Rick) Holiday, Grimes, IA, Susan K. Turner, Scranton, IA, and Anita (David) Nesheim, Bondurant, IA; 12 grandchildren, Sara (Bob) Wendler, Ryan (Amber) Suckow, Kimberly (Dan) Sederberg, Kacy (Matt) Coleman, Kyle, Kurt, Anna, Kory, Carrie Turner, Adam, Joshua, Megan Holiday; 8 great grandchildren, Andrew, Alicia, Matthew Wendler, Morgan, Isabella, William Sederberg, Michael and Charley Coleman.

Also surviving is a brother, Boyd (Merle) Turner of Postville, a sister-in-law, Mary Wallin, a brother-in-law, John Dresser, and Eunice's aunt, Elinor Donaldson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Kerr, Lois Brandt, Ruth Turner, and a brother, Harold Turner.

Dale was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the Church Choir for 40 years, served as Sunday School Treasurer for many years, and was a member of the Mariners. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Past Master. Dale was a leader in a local 4-H club.
