Crispin D. Kurt, 57, of Waukon, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at Veterans memorial Hospital in Waukon following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8th at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may greet the family from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Crispin Donald Kurt was born November 28, 1942 in Waukon, the son of Francis B. and Helen R. (Kimmich) Kurt. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Waukon in 1961 and later trained at Milwaukee Area Technical College. On September 9, 1967 he married Anna Mae Fitzgerald at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. He worked for Continental Can Co. for 9 years and relocated often during this time. Crispin and Anna Mae then settled in the Milwaukee area where he worked as a millwright for Miller Brewing Co. in their container division for 25 years. In August of 1999 he retired to Waukon. Crispin was a member of the AALU in Milwaukee. He enjoyed boating, mountain biking, travel, and outdoor activities, particularly with his family. He was also a train enthusiast.
Crispin is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marilynn Clarke, and a brother, Francis R. Kurt. Survivors include his wife Anna Mae of Waukon, two daughters, Stephanie (Ryan) Petersen of Maple Grove, MN, and Carrie (Kevin) Pok of West Bend, WI, a brother, John (Jane) of Waukon, two sisters, Susan (Charles) O'Hollearn of Des Moines, and Geraldine Connor of Waukon, his mother and father-in-law, Carl and Clara Fitzgerald of Waukon, and several nieces and nephews.
