Services for Dale Gilson, 59 were held August 25, 1991 at Grace Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Rev. Douglas Bode officiated and interment was at Clarinda, Iowa. Gilson was born June 29, 1932 at Postville, Iowa, the son of Orrie and Mary (Amundson) Gilson. He married Jean Daly in 1958 at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. His second marriage was to Marles Walters at Maryville, Missouri.

From 1966 to 1979 he was a correctional supervisor at the Iowa Men's Reformatory. He then worked at Luster Heights until his retirement this year. He was a Korean War veteran. Military rites were held in Clarinda, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Marles; two daughters, Heidi of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Mary Gregor of Maquoketa, Iowa; a step-daughter, Dee Miller of Alameda, California; four sons, Mike of Wyoming, Iowa, David of Oxford Junction, Iowa, Danny of Maquoketa, Iowa and Eric in Germany. Eight grandchildren also survive as well as five sisters, Dorothy Aldredge and Norma Rosell of Decorah, Iowa, Myrtle Drahn of Monona, Iowa, Carol Reeder of Waukon,Iowa and Delores Steiner of McHenry, Illinois. Two brothers survive John of Waukon and Lawrence of Eitzen, Minnesota.
