Lois Mildred Aldrich was born November 2, 1902 in Tordensjold Township, Ottertail County, MN to Ernest and Christine Skalman. She grew up near Underwood, MN and worked in Fergus Falls, MN for a short time. She attended Bethel Academy in St.Paul, MN and on June 17, 1926 she married Lemuel Aldrich at First Baptist Church in Fergus Falls, MN where they resided for 16 years. They lived in Washington D.C. for ten years and in Wheaton, IL for 15 years while her husband worked for Wheaton College. They returned to Fergus Falls for one year before moving to St.Paul where Lemuel worked for Bethel College for 16 years. After retiring, they moved to Milaca, MN.

She died Tuesday, November 7, at the age of 87 at Elam Nursing Home in Milaca, MN. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Marois and Mrs. Paul (Avis Kathleen) Foley; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Evelyn Skalman and Lydia Skalman, both of Winona, MN and Mrs. Hollis (Bernice) Egland of Houston, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter. Funeral services were held November 9 at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Milaca, MN with the Rev. Donald Matheson officiating. Burial was in Center Baptist Church Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa with Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Ray Edgren, Dale Vanderpoel, Butch Derosier, Robert Johnson, David Johnson, and Todd Marois.
