Funeral services for Lorene H. Dahms were held Thursday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville. Rev. Charles Miller of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiated with Ileta Lauerman as organist. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Lorene Helen Dahms, daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Kluss) Dahms, was born January 29, 1911 in Bloomfield Township, Winneshiek County, near Castalia, IA. She died Tuesday, April 16, 1991 in the Madison Convalescent Center, Madison, WI.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia and attended the rural school in Bloomfield Township. Lorene also attended a school of cosmetology in Omaha, NE. She operated a shop in Castalia and later worked in a shop in Postville. For 48 years she lived in Madison, WI where she was employed as a clerk by Walgreen Drug Store.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Harvey, Gilbert, Clarence, Earl and Lloyd Dahms and a sister, Mabel Christofferson.

Surviving are a brother, Wayne (Colette) Dahms of Castalia, a sister, Ethel Meyer of Postville and several nieces and nephews.
