Mildred Rita Kelleher, 91, of Lansing, died Monday, May 26, 1997 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse following a short illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1905 near Wexford to Michael D. and Catherine (Thornton) Guider. She attended local schools and teachers training in Dubuque. Mildred taught country school for several years before marrying Leonard Kelleher June 8, 1926 in Lansing. Their farmed in rural Lansing until their retirement in 1950.
She is survived by a son, Karl (Ruth Ann) Kelleher of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Theresa (Tony) Link of Waukon. Four grandchildren, Robert Link, Paul (Betty) Link, and Margaret Schobert, all of Waukon, and Lori (Mike) Pfiffner of rural Lansing; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brady Link, Bridget and Anthony Schobert, Jessica Sharrock, and Erin and Amy Pfiffner.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Norbert, Myron and Joseph Guider; two sisters, Lila Hawes and Viola Garin.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, May 29 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lansing, Fr. Herbert Tegeler officiated. Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Bob Link, Paul Link, Mike Pfiffner, Daryl Bolson, Dan Kelleher and Pat Curran.
Honorary casket bearers were Jim and Elaine Mooney, Jim and Sandra Keenan, Vince and Dorothy Mullarkey, Leo and Mary Lou Garin and Mickey Madden.
