Lansing Youth Passes Away Monday at Iowa City

John Weipert, 18, 2nd eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weipert, passed away Monday at the University Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient the past couple of weeks. Death was attributed to a hemorrhage although he had been in failing health the past year with a rare blood disease. He was born Dec. 22, 1934 at Lansing and only last spring was graduated from Immaculate Conception High School where he was a good student well liked by teachers and classmates. Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers, Robert, Thomas, and Samuel, and three sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Florence) Snitker, and Gladys of Lansing and Mrs. Douglas (Rosemary) Dill of Madison, Wis., and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. William Tippery of Prairie du Chien, Wis.
The funeral seervices will be held tomorrow morning at nine o'clock from Immaculate Conception Church, with Msgr. Henry Scharphoff officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane and casket bearers will be Tom and Maurice Mooney, Jackie Powers, Don Kelleher, Ally Becker, and Ralph Mettille.
