Shannon Nicole Delaney, age 9, died July 16, 1995 at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,as the result of a fire in her home in Kenosha.
She was born August 30, 1985 in Kenosha where she lived all her life, the daughter of James R. and Kathleen A. (Zukowski) Delaney. She attended St. Casimer School and was currently a 4th grade honor student at Jefferson Elementary School in Kenosha.
Shannon was a member of St. Casimer Catholic Church, a C.Y.C. Raiders cheerleader and a collector of Barbie dolls and Precious Moments figurines. She loved swimming in her family pool, singing and being surrounded by her friends.
She is survived by her mother, two brothers, Shawn P. and James R, Delaney, at home, and her maternal grandfather, John F. Zukowski, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, James R. Delaney, her maternal grandmother, Rosina Zukowski, and her paternal grandparents, James and Evelyn Delaney.
Funeral services for Shannon and her father, James R. Delaney, were held on Thursday, July 20th at 9;30 at the funeral home, followed by mass at St. Casimer Catholic Church in Kenosha with internment following at St. Casimer Cemetery. Piasecki Funeral Home of Kenosha was in charge of arrangements.
