SAEWERT,HARRY LeRoy

A mass of requiem was said Friday, March 28, 1969 at 9:30 a.m. in St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa for Harry LeRoy Saewert, 64. The Rev. Florian Schmidt was the officiating priest. Interment was in the St.Mary's Church cemetery in Lycurgus.

Mr. Saewert died of injuries received in a tractor accident at the Northeast Iowa Sales facility, Wednesday, March 26, 1969. He was born October 9, 1904 in Lansing, a son of Charles and Magdalene (Roth) Saewert. He was educated in the local schools and May 14, 1929 married Isabel Riley in St.Mary's Church in Lycurgus. She survives, as do a sister, Marie Schoenthal of Waukon, three brothers, William Saewert of Delano, Minnesota and Freeman and Ed Bechtel of Waukon, and nieces and nephews. A brother Carl Saewert and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lydia) Johnson and Mrs. Emma Schleith preceded him in death.

He was employed by Curt Nordheim at Northeast Iowa sales barn at the time of his death. He was a resident of Allamakee County all of his life and a member of the St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. Bakke and Hanson was in charge of funeral arrangements. Curt Nordheim, Irving Bangs, Milton Wild, Willis Mathis, Joe Curtin, Pat Campbell, Richard Fruechte, and Donald Deeney were casket bearers.
